Deer Creek Falls is a steep two-stepped cascade of 62 feet in height encountered as one hikes west from the Owyhigh Lakes Trailhead along Highway 123 in Mount Rainier National Park. From the trailhead on Highway 123, A well graded path winds moderately down two switchbacks to viewpoints overlooking the falls. The canyon below was deep and there’s no chance to get any lower.
From Packwood head East on US-12 approximately 7.6 miles, turn left onto WA-123 N and follow for 11.4 miles. Trailhead will be on the right. Deer Creek Falls is accessed from the Owyhigh Lakes Trail just off Highway 123 near Cayuse Pass in Mount Rainier National Park. The trailhead is found about 6 1/2 miles south of the pass.
